Basic Emergency Kits Guidelines





Get your kit ready with the following

  • Prescription Medications and Eyeware
  • Infant formula and diapers
  • Pet food water and travel cage
  • Important Family Documents Insurance, Passports, Bank Cards in a waterproof portable container
  • Cash and Travellers Checks
  • Emergency Reference Material such as a first aid book
  • Sleeping Bag or warm blanket and pillows
  • Change of clothing
  • Chlorine Bleach and medicine dropper (9 parts water 1 part bleach for disinfectant) (16 drops bleach to gallon water to treat drinking water). Do not use scented, color safe or bleaches with added cleaners.
  • Fire Extinguisher, can opener, bottle opener,
  • Matches in a waterproof container
  • Feminine and personal hygene
  • Mess kits, paper cups, plates, plastic utensils, paper towels
  • Paper and pencil
  • Books, games, puzzles, or other activities to pass time
  • Water 5 gallons
  • Food for at least three days
  • Battery or hand crank radio, flashlight and batteries
  • First Aid Kit
  • Whistle to signal help and compass
  • Dust mask, plastic sheeting and duct tape
  • Moist towelettes, garbage bags, and plastic ties
  • Wrench, hammer, pliers, screwdriver and drill
